the first discovery occurred back in fall of 2008 in a borders. the lucky explorers posted about it here and said that the idea might inspire them to start a similar project of their own!
the second discoverer had this to say "i came across 'a certain solitude of space' yesterday at the barnes and noble at columbia. lovely piece. i will place it sometime this week."
the third discoverers found another bookstore hideaway and had this to say in the winter of 2009: "i felt so happy when i found this in the bookshelves of columbia university bookstore when i went for a field trip with my yearbook class. i actually live in miami, florida and next year i will be going to univ. of south florida in tampa... and this inspired me to try something like this when i start college in the fall. i know i am not allowed to recreate this... but i just thought what you have done is such a great idea that i'd like to try something similar (with different artwork and poetry, of course) here in south florida. finding this gave me another reason to love nyc even more! thanks for the idea, and i will make sure to spread the love. peace!"
